Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Effective August 26, 2026

These Terms govern use of cheerthechildren.org, operated by Cheer The Children Youth Organization (“CTC,” “we,” or “our”), a youth-led California nonprofit public benefit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. By using this website, you agree to these Terms.

1. Permitted Use

You may use the website only for lawful, personal, charitable, or informational purposes. You may not disrupt the website, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, misrepresent your identity or affiliation, scrape protected information, or use content for fraud, resale, exploitation, or unlawful activity.

2. Donations and Tax Information

Donations support CTC charitable programs and operations. Contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law; donors should consult their own tax advisor. CTC does not provide tax, legal, or appraisal advice. Donors are responsible for estimating the value of donated goods for their own records. Restricted gifts may be accepted, redirected with donor consent, or declined depending on program feasibility and applicable requirements.

3. Assistance and Program Applications

Submitting an application does not guarantee assistance, funding, partnership, employment, or volunteer placement. Requests are reviewed according to need, urgency, eligibility, geographic reach, safety considerations, and available resources. CTC may verify information reasonably necessary to protect charitable resources and may deny requests involving fraud, resale, diversion, or material misrepresentation.

4. Intellectual Property

Website text, graphics, educational materials, logos, and original media are owned by or licensed to CTC unless otherwise stated. No content may be reproduced, sold, modified, or distributed without authorization, except for limited personal use or as permitted by law.

5. Third-Party Services

The website may link to third-party platforms, payment processors, or service providers. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. CTC is not responsible for third-party websites or services outside its control.

6. Disclaimers and Limitation

The website is provided on an “as available” basis. CTC does not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free content, program availability, or a particular result. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CTC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from website use.

7. Governing Law and Changes

These Terms are governed by applicable United States federal law and the laws of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. CTC may update these Terms by posting a revised effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
